Mission Statement

To ensure sustainable utilization of freshwater and riparian ecosystem resources through environmental research, education, and advocacy, thereby contributing to the attainment of sustainable development goal 15, target 15.1

Our Goals & Objectives

Utilization

To promote utilization of freshwater and riparian ecosystem resources through environmental research, thereby contributing to the attainment of sustainable development goals.

Assessment

To promote the assessment of the ecological and ecotoxicological implications of impacted freshwater ecosystems and riparian corridors for biodiversity and human health.

Conservation

To promote conservation advocacy by communicating pertinent environmental issues and drawing the attention of the relevant authorities to sites that need immediate conservation or restoration.

Identification

To promote the identification of natural ecosystems that still harbour threatened, rare, and undescribed freshwater species through field research.

Campaigns

To promote utilization of freshwater and riparian ecosystem resources through environmental research, thereby contributing to the attainment of sustainable development goals.

Research

To promote and encourage scholarship and conduct research in fields of environment, science, and technology.

Support

To promote and support biodiversity conservation in natural ecosystems such as waterfalls, national parks, and sacred groves.

Environmental Impact

To promote the conduct of environmental impact assessments for developmental projects with the aim of attaining sustainable development.

Academic Workshops

To promote academic workshops, talks, lectures, conferences, meetings, trainings, debates, and quiz competitions geared towards stimulating the interest of young scientists (secondary school students, undergraduates, and graduate students) in biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable development goals.
